Coach targets first win for 15 games at Oldham this weekend.

James Collins says Crewe Alexandra will travel to Boundary Park this weekend aiming to build some momentum to end the season. The club’s first team coach is looking for another positive result to follow up our last minute draw against Colchester United on Tuesday evening.

Collins knows that Crewe can still play a part in who goes down from League One with the Railwaymen still to face Oldham, Doncaster and Fleetwood in the final three weeks of the season but he is only concerned on ending our barren run without a win. If the Latics win this weekend then they are certain of League One football again next season.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Oldham, James told us: “We want to get that win because we haven’t had one for a while and we want to try and build some momentum to take into the summer.

“We are not concerning ourselves with Oldham and what it means to them. We are only concerned with what we are aiming to do. It was nice to stop the rot against Colchester on Tuesday and it is always a good test to go to Oldham and try and get a result.

“It is a tough place to go, so we have to show some character and resilience.”
