Boss wants Zoumana to stay but says that he won't wait too long into the summer for a decision.
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has reiterated his desire to sign Zoumana Bakayogo on an extended contract but he has set the former Leicester and Tranmere player and his agent a deadline over his decision.
Bakayogo,29, has become a firm favourite with the Alex faithful after earning himself a short-term contract in January. He ended two years of injuries to return to the Football League.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We are keen for Zooms to stay and we have been clear on that, but we have put a deadline on it because we need to know where we stand with him going forward.
“We have told him and his representative and hopefully we will have the answer we want in the next couple of weeks.”
