Davis: "I Want Players Prepared To Fight For Shirt."

Steve Davis wants a reaction at Vale Park after Posh disappointment

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis says that his players have to show that they are prepared to fight and show that they want a future at the club. Crewe are staring relegation in the face and have to defeat local neighbours Port Vale on Saturday to avoid going down at Vale Park.

The Alex boss is after a positive reaction against Rob Page’s side this weekend to give the suffering Crewe supporters a bit of a lift.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: "We want people who are prepared to fight for the shirt."

"If they're not, they can go. The one thing I want them to do is fight and for the first time this season at Peterborough there was a lack of that.

"We saw the first signs of that from quite a few of them, and that will never happen while I'm here.

He added: “What we did at Peterborough was not good enough. There are not many playing anywhere near to their potential."
