Boss: "We Have To Work Hard To Restore Pride"

12 April 2016

Steve Davis says his team will remain professional until the last ball is kicked.

Steve Davis says that everyone at Crewe Alexandra has to work hard at restoring the lost pride we have all felt following our relegation to League Two. The Alex boss wants his team to finish the season strongly and demonstrate their professionalism against teams that are also battling against relegation.

Crewe have five matches remaining starting with a home game against Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We have five games left and I want us to finish as strong as we can. We want them to perform well and make sure they are professional right up until the final whistle.

“We have four games against the teams that are down there with us and we won’t be doing anyone any favours.

“I want the players to restore some pride by getting some results in the last five games. We want to get some points back and claw that deficit back.

“We have lost some pride throughout the season and we need to work hard to get that back. Professionalism is a key value and I won’t let that slip in the last few weeks of the season.

“It will be interesting to see how they respond in training. There are still decisions still to be made on certain players, so it could affect their futures as well.”
