Steve wants his players to continue to play stylish football between now and the end of the season.
Steve Davis wants his team to continue to produce a high level of performance between now and the end of the season. The Alex boss was pleased with the way his Crewe team performed in the second half away at Sheffield United and then in the first half at home to Bradford.
The Railwaymen were unfortunate to suffer two defeats over the Easter period, especially after battling back from 2-0 down at Bramall Lane on Good Friday.
Crewe head to Peterborough United this weekend really needing three points to keep our chances of surviving in League One alive. With just seven games remaining Crewe will need to win the majority of those games to have any chance of getting out of the bottom four.
Steve told crewealex.net: “The Easter games were typical of our season. We played well but didn’t get anything to show for it. I was pleased with elements of the performances.
“We dominated much of the game against Bradford in the first half and we were terrific in the second half at Sheffield. I didn’t think we got what we deserved out of those two performances on the day. We have struggled to put two halves together in a lot of games this season but we haven’t had much luck going our way either.
“Hopefully we will get some luck between now and the end of the season and a result will allow us to build some momentum. The performances were good over Easter but the players didn’t get there rewards and it can be immensely frustrating for them and for everyone associated with the club.
The boss added: “We know what we have to do. We know we have to win the majority of our games and we have had six wins all season, so it is a massive ask but we have got to get that first win and see what happens. It would be a massive achievement if we were to get the wins we need.”
