Wilson Will Get His Chance

29 September 2015

Steve Davis says Liverpool youngster will get to play his part.

Steve Davis says that Liverpool have been ‘brilliant’ over the handling of the on-loan Harry Wilson. The Welsh International has been used as an impact substitute and showed glimpses of his talent with two efforts against Walsall on Saturday.

Wilson is on loan until early January and Davis admits that he is under no pressure from Liverpool to play him and that the 18-year-old has to earn his start just like anyone else.

Davis has been complimentary about Wilson’s attitude and work ethic and says that the Liverpool Under-21 star will get his chance soon enough.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Harry came on and did well against Walsall. He had a couple of chances and he certainly has something to offer. We can all see that.

“He will get his chances and I’m sure he will figure at some point because we have a lot of game coming up in short succession.

“I am under no pressure from Liverpool to play him. They have been brilliant with us and with him. They wanted him to go out and gain some experience of a football environment and he is doing that.

“It is all a part of his education and he knows he is being treated like anyone else. He has got to earn his place in the side and he knows that.

Steve added: “He is sharp and direct and his record of assists and goals at youth and Under-21 level is very good and he has to take that type of form into league football. “
