Internationals: Haber Reaches Group Stages With Canada

9 September 2015

Marcus unused sub as Canada draw 1-1

Crewe Alexandra striker Marcus Haber was an unused substitute as Canada drew 1-1 in Belize to progress into the 2018 World Cup Qualifying CONCACAF region group stages on aggregate.

A 3-0 victory over the same opponents in Toronto last week put the Maple Leafs in control and the draw in the Caribbean gave Canada a 4-1 margin of victory overall in the two-legged preliminary play-off.

Canada will now take part in a group of four round-robin, playing home and away in a total of six matches against Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador with the top two in the group progressing to the next stage.

If selected, Haber would miss the trip to Bradford City with the first and second of those fixtures taking place on November 13 & 17 2015 respectively, with the Canadians first hosting Honduras before travelling to El Salvador.
