Haber To Be Assessed

Gaffer to decide whether to use striker after his Canada call-up.

James Collins says that the coaching staff will assess the fatigue level of Marcus Haber before deciding to involve the target man against Millwall this weekend. Haber has been away on International duty with Canada for their World Cup qualifying double header against Belize and although he was an unused sub for the return game on Tuesday evening, the coaching staff are always concerned with the amount of travelling the former Stevenage man has to undertake.

The club’s first team coach told the club’s official web-site: “You never know how the players who fly out on International duty are going to be. Marcus has to do a lot of travelling when he is away with Canada and we will have to see how he is tomorrow (Friday) before the gaffer will decide to include him.

“The training expected of them and the jet-lag they suffer can make them fatigued but the final decision will be made by Steve. If he isn’t right then we have enough options to cover that problem.”

Crewe will be without midfield players Billy Bingham (hamstring) and James Jones (shoulder) who remain on the sidelines. Callum Saunders is also struggling with a muscle injury and is unlikely to be involved again for the visit of Millwall.
