Boss Looking For Home Comforts

4 September 2015

Steve Davis hoping to make two successive home games count with points.

Steve Davis is hoping that his Crewe Alexandra side can really make home form count over the next couple of weeks. The Railwaymen are still searching for their first league win of the season after drawing twice at home to Port Vale and Bury and narrowly losing on the road at Scunthorpe, Coventry and Wigan Athletic.

Crewe host Swindon Town this weekend before Millwall arrive in South Cheshire the week after, as we kick off a new month with two intriguing home games. Steve is now hoping that his side can get the result to match recent promising performances.

The boss told the club’s official web-site: “We haven’t been able to get the results that our performances have warranted. We should have more points than we have at the moment but it hasn’t happened for us.

“We are now hoping that having two home games in succession will see us get those first three points of the season and provide that platform for us to push on. It will be nice to be back at home and having the supporters behind us, like they were in their numbers at Wigan, can certainly help.

“We have drawn both our home games this season and those games could have gone either way. We need to turn those draws into wins and we go into the games with great confidence at the moment because we have been playing reasonably well. There is room for improvement but there always is.

“We are steadily improving and moving in the right direction. Now we have to get those three points as soon as possible.”
