Wintle Ruled Out After U-21 Knock

2 October 2015

Crewe to be without promising midfielder for the visit of Chesterfield following mid-week knock.

Crewe Alexandra will be without young midfielder Ryan Wintle after he picked up a knock playing for the club’s Development side on Wednesday.

Crewe narrowly lost 3-2 to Crystal Palace and Wintle was forced off just before half time and had to be replaced by Tommy Lowery.

The former Alsager midfielder, Wintle, has been named in the first team squad but is yet to make his senior debut. The injury is not serious and he is fully expected to resume training next week.

Crewe are also without club captain Harry Davis (knee), Billy Bingham (hamstring) and James Jones (shoulder) and reserve goalkeeper Dave Richards (foot).

New loan signing Danijel Nizic is expected to be named on the bench for the visit of Chesterfield after signing on a one-month loan from Burnley yesterday.
