Turton, Garratt and Nugent considered for armband following Fox injury.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he will consider three players for the role of captain after he lost his vice-captain David Fox through injury. Fox, who suffered a back injury at Blackpool on Saturday, now joins club captain Harry Davis (knee) on the sidelines for up to two months.

Full-back Ollie Turton took the captains’ armband after Fox was forced off in the second half and he has stepped in as captain in the past and during pre-season.

The other contenders for captain this weekend are goalkeeper Ben Garratt and summer signing Ben Nugent.
