Ray, 21, has suffered a fracture of the cheekbone following that nasty aerial collision against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday evening, but with a considerable amount of bruising and swelling around the cheek, a specialist will assess if the centre-half will need surgery or not.

Crewe Alexandra defender George Ray will visit a specialist in Liverpool tomorrow to assess the full extent of his facial injury.
