Players Are Working Hard To Keep In Touch

Alex boss says his players are determined to move off the bottom as soon as possible.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis was delighted with last weekend’s 2-1 win at his former club Barnsley as the three points kept us in touching distance of those clubs currently ahead of us at the bottom of League One.

Ahead of this weekend’s home game against Gillingham, Steve told us: “Nobody is cut adrift and our win at Barnsley last weekend moved us closer to the clubs above us.



“We know where we are and what we need to do but back-to-back wins in this league can soon have you moving up the table. Things can change very quickly and we are now only a couple of points from getting out of it.



“If we had lost at Barnsley then there would have been a greater distance between ourselves and those in the bottom four and we didn’t want that.


The boss added: “There are a few teams on 14 points and that takes you into mid-table and that is what we have got to aim for. We need to keep those clubs closer to us by becoming harder to beat and getting a few results.”
