Stephen Kingsley says home form has to change and quickly.
On-loan left-back Stephen Kingsley says it is important that we overcome the Southend result and performance very quickly. The Alex slipped to the bottom of the League One table following a 2-1 home defeat by the Shrimpers on Tuesday evening and Kingsley says that the dressing room was a quiet place after ‘we didn’t do ourselves justice’.
Crewe host Chesterfield this weekend aiming to record that first home win of the season and build on recent successes on the road at Shrewsbury and Walsall.
The on-loan Swansea City defender told crewealex.net: “It was a really disappointing team performance against Southend and we didn’t do ourselves justice. We didn’t show up like we can and really challenge them.
“We gave away two slack goals from our point of view and from a personal point of view I thought I was off the pace a bit as well. I know I can play better than that and so do the rest of the team.
“I don’t know if it is a mental thing that we have not won at home but we need to make it right and make it tough for visiting teams to get a result.
“It is important that we keep our heads up and go again against Chesterfield this weekend. The god thing is that we have not had to wait too long for the next game to come around. It is up ourselves to come together again and step up to the challenge.”
