Boss fuming after two-footed lunge on Brad Inman

On top of the frustrating news that vice-captain David Fox is likely to be side-lined for almost two months with a back injury, Steve Davis now has an anxious wait over news over his forward Brad Inman who suffered a foot and shin injury in the dying minutes at Blackpool on Saturday. Inman was subjected to a two-footed lunge injury time with the tackle described by the Alex boss as ‘disgraceful’.

Inman, who has been in fine form this season, will now have a scan on the injury with the biggest fear that he could have broken a bone in his foot.

Steve Davis was fuming with the ‘tackle’ and told the club’s official web-site that if Inman had not ridden the tackle then it would have most certainly have broken his leg.

minute when Blackpool are 2-0 up. I remonstrated with the referee afterwards and he dismissed it. ndTalking to Crewe Alex PlayerHD, Steve said: “The tackle on Brad was disgraceful. It was a two footed challenge on him in the 92

“We have sent it off on DVD because players need to be protected against tackles like that. If Brad had his foot planted then he would have broken his leg. It could have been a  career ending challenge, it was that bad, and I am not happy about it.

He added: “He will go for an X-ray on his foot and we are just hoping that no bones are broken. He has been on crutches since and there is a lot of swelling. We are hopeful but it is very unlikely he will be involved at the weekend.”
