Experienced midfielder could be back sooner than expected.
Crewe Alexandra have been handed a major boost in relation to Vice-Captain David Fox. The midfielder suffered two small fractures in his back after being on the end of a reckless tackle against Blackpool last weekend and although he is still going to be ruled out for weeks, a visit to a consultant has brought some positive news.
After the injury has settled down Fox will be able to train and possibly play as the injury heals. The consultant believes that the injury should not hamper his rehabilitation, so he could be back quicker than first feared. The first recovery period was set at 6-8 weeks.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We have had some good news in regards to Foxy. He visited a consultant and has been told that once the injury has settled down that he can push on.
“He has small cracks in his back but it shouldn’t prevent him from doing the work. He will still be able to train and play, so he could be back with us a lot quicker than we thought.
The boss added: “He will be able to do the rehab as it heals, so that is a real bonus as well.”
