Davis To Undergo Surgery

1 October 2015

Captain to have clean up of knee today.

Crewe Alexandra captain Harry Davis will undergo surgery today to remove a small, floating bone from his knee. Davis was forced off just before half-time during our 1-1 draw with Walsall last Saturday and had to be replaced by George Ray.

Crewe have been dealt the blow of losing the club captain just a month after he had returned from a similar knee injury.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Harry will undergo some surgery to remove a piece of floating bone and clean it up. They will look at it and assess the damage and they will have more of an idea of how long we can expect to be without him.

“We are hoping that it is not as bad as the previous problem and that he won’t be out for as long. It is a blow to lose him because we were looking more solid defensively at Shrewsbury and Walsall and he had started to establish a good partnership with Ben (Nugent). “
