LDV won't feature against Burton Albion after suffering back injury against Gillingham.

Crewe Alexandra’s Finnish striker Lauri Dalla Valle has been ruled out of tomorrow night’s trip to Burton Albion with a back injury. The former Liverpool and Fulham forward had to come off in the first half of our 1-0 defeat to Gillingham at the weekend, and was replaced by youngster George Cooper.

Dalla Valle went down clutching his lower back and was unable to continue.

Boss Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Lauri had a problem with his back. His muscles went into spasm and it is something he has suffered before when he was younger. It was unfortunate for him but he was unable to continue and had to come off.

“It was better for him to come off then do any more damage to it. Tuesday’s game will come too soon but we are hopeful that he can train this week and make himself available for Blackpool at the weekend. That is the more realistic target.”
