Crewe Suffer Fox Injury Blow

27 October 2015

Crewe suffer vice captain injury blow.

Crewe Alexandra have been dealt a blow with the news that vice-captain David Fox will be side lined for a minimum of 6-8 weeks after fracturing two vertebrae in his back. Fox suffered the injury after a late tackle on him at Blackpool at the weekend and he was replaced by Chris Atkinson.

It is another injury blow for the club having already lost Harry Davis (knee) and reserve goalkeeper David Richards (fracture of the foot).

Manager Steve Davis was not happy with the challenge that has ruled out his most experienced player until at least Christmas.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “It was a poor challenge on Foxy. He got a shot off from outside the box and the lad has come through the back of him. It flipped him into the air and he has landed awkwardly on his back and pelvis.

“The scan has shown that he has fractured two cracked vertebrae in his back, so that will be 6-8 weeks. We have had no luck with injuries and it seems to be one in one out for us at the moment.”
