Crewe 5-0 Witton

27 October 2015

Comfortable victory for Alex in Cheshire Senior Cup

Development coach Alex Morris guided Crewe Alexandra to a comfortable 5-0 win over Witton Albion at the Alexandra Stadium this evening. The Alex led 2-0 at the interval with late goals arriving towards the end of the half from Ryan Wintle (41) with a header and then Liam O’Neill (45) finishing off a passing move involving George Cooper and Callum Saunders.

Saunders added two more goals in the second half with substitute Andre Brown sealing the scoring just minutes after replacing the fit again Stephen Kingsley during the half time break.

Crewe could have added more goals to the five scored on the night with the Witton goalkeeper Dominic Garner denying Saunders on a few occasions and Ryan Colclough, full-back James Baillie and Cooper all going close to getting themselves on the score sheet as well.

Witton’s best opportunity on the night fell to our former Academy striker Alex Titchiner but he couldn’t quite keep his header down from an excellent corss from Jamie Matthews to test Danijel Nizic in the Crewe goal.

Crewe: Nizic, Baillie, Kingsley, Ng Howell, Kearns, O’Neill, Wintle, Saunders, Colclough Cooper,

Subs: Brown, Lundstrum, Hilton
