Crewe have signed Burnley's Australian youngster on a youth loan to cover for the injured Richards.

Crewe Alexandra have signed Burnley Under-21 goalkeeper Danijel Nizic on a youth loan to act as cover and competition to our first choice goalkeeper Ben Garratt.

The 20-year-old has initially signed for a month as Crewe continue to monitor the fitness of our stand-in Dave Richards after he recently picked up a foot injury in training.

Nizic has both Croatian and Australian parents and is previously an Australian Youth International. He is yet to make his senior debut for Championship side Burnley, but has on occasion travelled as part of the extended first-team squad.

Nizic is an important member of the Burnley’s Development squad and he previously spent a brief time out on loan with Workington back in January 2014.

Burnley have kindly granted us permission to play Danijel in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and Cheshire Senior Cup is we so wish.

He will wear the number 30 shirt during his time at Crewe Alexandra.
