"Brown Ready For Challenge"

30 October 2015

Steve Davs believes forward Andre Brown will only benefit from short-term loan with Worcester.

Steve Davis says that young striker Andre Brown and other youngsters in the Crewe Alexandra squad need the challenge of going out on short-term loan and will benefit from having that competitive experience.

First year pro Brown joined Worcester City on a one-month loan yesterday and will have to earn his right to start games for the Conference North side.

Davis is considering loaning more of his younger players out, so they can get that taste of ‘men’s football’.

The Alex boss said of Brown’s short-term switch: “Andre and some of the others are ready for a challenge. It will do him good to go to Worcester and have to earn the right to get into their team and play.

“It is up to him. He has to show that he can hold his own at a decent level and stay in their team.

He added: “It is a completely different environment for him and I am sure he will benefit from the experience. In many ways, going out on loan and having the experience of a different dressing room and club is better than playing Under-21 football.”
