Bingham Returns To Alex Squad

30 October 2015

Midfielder Bingham back from hamstring injury for visit of the Blades.

Summer signing Billy Bingham has a strong chance of being named in Steve Davis’ matchday squad for the visit of Sheffield United tomorrow after making a full recovery from his hamstring injury.

Bingham has been ruled out for two months after initially aggravating the muscle away at Wigan Athletic. He then suffered a set-back as he was on the verge of a return to full training.

Bingham has worked hard on his rehab and although he is yet to play for the club’s Development Squad, Alex boss Steve Davis is set to name him in his squad to cover for the loss of the injured David Fox (back).

Bingham has trained well over the last ten days and his fitness test scores were higher than expected, prompting an early return.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Billy has trained well over the last number of days and he came through the testing we had earlier in the week very well. It was better than we had anticipated and that is testimony to the work he has put in.

Steve added: “He has come through fine because we have given him a tough week with the loading up. He is not ready to start a game for us but he could be in the squad this weekend. We could use him in part of the game if we need him and that is a real bonus.”
