Westley Has Added Versatility To Posh

20 November 2015

Steve Davis on our visitors from Peterborough.

Steve Davis expects his Crewe Alexandra side to be facing a well organised and efficient Peterborough United side when they arrive in South Cheshire this weekend under their relatively new manager Graham Westley.

The former Preston and Stevenage boss was chosen as the long-term successor to David Robertson when he lost his job back in September.

Westley has already imprinted his own style and ideas on his Peterborough side and they are now just three points off a play-off spot having won four of their last seven games. They have also progressed to the second round of the FA Cup having impressively won 3-0 at Burton Albion.

Ahead of the clash at Gresty Road, Steve told crewealex.net: “Graham’s sides are always hard working and organised. They are always a tough side to play against and he has gone into Peterborough and changed things around a bit.

“They have changed their formation and personnel over the last few weeks and I'm sure Graham will have something up his sleeve because he think a lot about tactics and how to gain an advantage. We won’t totally know how they are going to line-up until we see the team-sheet tomorrow and I’m sure they will be thinking the same.

He added: “It will be interesting to see how they mix things up and what shape they are going to adopt because they do have that versatility under Graham, but we will be looking mostly at what we are aiming to do. “
