That's What King Is About

Coaching staff delighted with Adam King's game changing goals.

James Collins praised Saturday’s match winner Adam King as the on-loan Swansea City scored his fifth goal of the season to seal a 1-0 win over Oldham Athletic. It was the 20-year-old’s first goal since he fired the winning goal away at Shrewsbury back in the middle of September and it sealed back-to-back wins for the Railwaymen for the first time this season.

Midfielder King is the club’s second join goalscorer with five goals with Ryan Colclough one ahead of him.

First team coach Collins has been delighted with the on-loan player’s contribution this season.

“Adam showed what he is about by arriving into the box and finishing Ben’s (Nugent) knock down, ‘ says James. “He has a knack of getting in and around the opposition penalty area and that is why he is on the pitch for us, to get forward and get goals.

“Midfield players who score goals are few and far between nowadays, so he has become a really important player for us and his goals have won us points.

He added: “He knows he has aspects of his game that he can improve on but he is still young and if he continues to score goals then there is sure to be managers and clubs who will want you. He is still learning the game and his attitude is first class.”
