Boss preparing for crucial fixtures
Crewe Alexandra Manager Steve Davis knows his side face an important double header against Colchester and Oldham this week, with his sights set on moving off the foot of League One.
Crewe have only won one game in seven, but having faced some of the league’s heavyweights in recent weeks, Davis is looking forward to slugging it out with sides within touching distance in the league table.
He said: “They are the teams that are just above us and not far away in points. It’s very similar in approach to the Blackpool game where we can get some points picked up and that would be a great bonus for us.
“It’s a long trip down there to Colchester. We’re looking forward to it, we’re leaving today to prepare properly and then a home game against Oldham to look forward to as well.
“Every game is important but the better teams in the league are a lot harder to beat of course. Though we are capable of doing that, they are tough ones and Saturday against Peterborough was no different.
“We should’ve done better on the day, but the next two are against teams around us and teams we’re really looking to get points off.”
