Ray Suffers Ankle Break

25 November 2015

After the high of our result last night, disappointing news as George Ray suffers a broken ankle.

Ray went for a scan today and it has been confirmed that the centre-half has suffered a clean break but is expected to be out of action for at least three months. The latest injury sees Ray join fellow defender Harry Davis in the treatment room and Crewe boss Steve Davis may have to look into the loan market to bring extra cover for his back four. The deadline for emergency loans is tomorrow afternoon.

Following the high of coming back so superbly at Colchester United last night, Crewe Alexandra have been dealt an injury blow after a scan confirmed that George Ray has broken his ankle. The Alex defender suffered the injury in the dying minutes of our 3-2 win over the U's and had to be replaced by Stephen Kingsley.
