Adam King pleased with his goal but more delighted with back-to-back wins.
Adam King was back amongst the goals again as his tidy finish from Ben Nugent’s knockdown proved to be the difference on Saturday against Oldham. It was King’s fifth goal of the season and his first since he hit the winner away at Shrewsbury back in September.
The on-loan Swansea midfielder was pleased to be on the scoresheet again but more delighted that the club picked up three more points following on from that morale boosting win at Colchester.
King, 20, told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “It has been a great week for us. The only downside was losing George (Ray) with an injury but that has given somebody else an opportunity and Semi was excellent for us.
“To get two wins on the bounce has given us a massive boost and we are right back in the mix. We are off the bottom and clawed some points back on the clubs above us in the table. We are back in it now and the confidence is flying high. We all believe we can start to push up the table.
“We have proved that we can compete with teams in this league but the results haven’t quite gone for us at times.
“It was great to get a goal again but the most important thing was the three points and following up what we did at Colchester on the Tuesday. The big thing was getting another home win.
“The manager encourages me to get forward and I don’t mind getting up and down the pitch and helping out defensively as well. I am happy to play anywhere he wants me to play and I like to get forward and help the team with some goals.
“I got a few goals at the beginning of the season but they have dried up a bit of late, so it was nice to get the goal but more importantly we got that win and we have to keep building on things.”
