Important Inman Stays Fit

20 November 2015

Boss praise for key man Inman after he overcomes heavy treatment in games.

Steve Davis admits that he has to keep his in-form wide man Brad Inman ‘wrapped up in cotton wool’ over the last couple of weeks after he became the victim of some hefty challenges. Inman was certainly targeted by non-league Eastleigh in the FA Cup with a lack of protection resulting him being on the receiving end of two reckless challenges and an off the ball kick out from Dan Harding.

Boss Steve David was incensed by the treatment Inman and his other winger Ryan Colclough received on the day. Colclough was forced off with a back injury and was replaced by George Cooper.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We have one or two who have had to limp through training a bit this week because they have had a few knocks over the last few weeks. We have had to wrap Brad up in cotton wool a bit. He has been kicked around a bit.

“We want to keep Brad fit because when you are struggling to create and score goals, you want the players who can do that to be on the pitch.

“Brad has done better for us this season than the last two. He has been fairly consistent and hasn’t missed a lot of games. He has become a really important player for us and he is beginning to realise what he is good at and how effective he can be for the team.

Steve added: “He is working hard on his defensive work as well. He is giving it a real go, there are lapses of concentration at times like at Blackpool but he worked hard to improve.”
