Lauri not quite there after injuring his neck in training.
Lauri Dalla Valle will not be risked for this weekend’s home game against Peterborough United. The Finnish striker is still struggling with the injured neck he sustained when going for a diving header in training. The former Fulham and Liverpool striker has been unable to train this week and boss Steve Davis says he will not gamble with his player’s fitness.
Steve told crewealex.net: “Lauri is still not quite right and he has not been able to train. He has been able to do the warm-ups and some work in the gym but we are having to gently re-introduce him because the injury has not settled down.
“It is still causing him some discomfort and he has aggravated the disc at the base of his neck. We are still hoping it will settle down naturally and it is getting better by the day. We are confident that he will be able to resume full training next week. “
