Finnish striker doubtful for Posh clash due to neck injuy.
Lauri Dalla Valle remains a doubt for this weekend’s home game against Peterborough because of a troublesome neck problem. The Finnish striker suffered the uncomfortable injury when heading a ball in a training session and that ruled him of our 2-0 defeat at Bradford City.
With Marcus Haber away on International duty with Canada and missing the trip to Yorkshire, Dalla Valle had a strong chance of starting only for him to suffer an untimely set-back.
Steve Davis has told us that Dalla Valle may have an injection to free up the muscles in his lower neck.
“Lauri has continued to be treated at the training ground and we will see how he is on Thursday, ‘says Steve. “He remains a doubt for the weekend because his neck is still causing him some discomfort.
“He may need an injection in his lower neck to speed up the recovery. It will settle down naturally over time but an injection may speed up that process. At this moment we are unsure if Lauri will be available for the weekend.”
