Steve admits staff discussions have taken place about adding some experience to his young squad.
Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he has made tentative enquiries about bringing a player in on loan before next Thursday’s deadline. The Alex boss would like to add a more experienced player to his young squad but he says that will only happen if he feels that the player will make a difference to the team.
The Alex boss admits that it can be difficult to find a player willing to join a club at the bottom of the table and finances will also have to be taken into account when considering any potential new loan signing.
Steve told crewealex.net: “We had a meeting yesterday between the staff and we spoke about what we possibly need to help us at the moment.
“We are a young team and could do with a little more experience or certainly a player that could make a difference to us. We spoke about the type we are after but I would only do something before the deadline if we can find the right one. There is no point signing one if he doesn’t have that right influence, character and ability to make a difference to the team.
“I would want to bring one in who will have that influence on our team. We have names in mind, that isn’t a problem because we have watched players or are watching players.
“We have made some enquires and it has been promising but then it is a question of whether that player wants to come here in the situation we find ourselves in at the moment. Would his club be willing to loan him out and what are the cost implications with that? There are a lot of things we have to consider and it can be a long process.”
