5 May 2015

Boss says he wants to improve the core of his team for next season.

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he is looking to improve the core of his Crewe Alexandra side for next season. The Alex boss and his staff have already undergone one review session this morning.

The Alex boss says that the club’s retain list will be finalised this week and the boss will make offers to a number of players going out of contract.

The focus will then switch to trying to attract better players to the football club.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Our aim will be do better and that means in all areas of the club. We have to try and bring better players into the club and if we can do then that will improve the team.

“We will also look to improve our own players and enhance the mentality of our young players. We don’t want them to think that staying in this league is enough, we want to do better. There are many areas we can work on and improve on.

“I want the core of our team to be better and that is what we are preparing to do. We will be having a number of meeting with the boards to try and implement some of those changes.”
