Steve Declares Interest In Ness

14 May 2015

Alex boss says he would be interested in Stoke midfielder if he was to be available this summer

Steve Davis has revealed to the club’s official web-site that he has spoken to Jamie Ness about his future plans. Davis has made it clear that Crewe Alexandra would be interested in taking him on a permanent basis if he were to become surplus to requirements at his parent club Stoke City.

Ness has returned to the Potters for the remaining weeks of the Premier League season after he enjoyed a successful loan spell at Crewe. Ness scored two goals and created a number of others during his 35 appearances for the club.

His consistent performances saw Ness, 24, claim third place in the supporters’ vote for their Player-of-the-Season at the end of season awards evening.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “It is still early in the closed season and decisions will not be made at the moment.

“I’ve spoken to Jamie (Ness) about his future. He has a year left on his Stoke contract and he is very much their player. He has gone back to complete the season and nothing has been decided on his future there.

“It will depend very much on what Stoke want to do with him but he is a player we have enjoyed having here. I am sure he has enjoyed it as well and having the opportunity to play every week.”
