Rachubka Deserved More Recognition

27 May 2015

Paul Rachubka played big part in survival says Neil Baker.

Neil Baker has told crewealex.net that goalkeeper Paul Rachubka didn’t receive the praise he deserved for his late contribution to our season. The former Manchester United trainee came in as back-up to the impressive Ben Garratt but he was thrust into action almost immediately after the England Youth International suffered a fracture in his leg away at Barnsley.

Rachubka made an error at Oakwell in a 2-0 defeat but overcame that quickly to become a key member of the Crewe Alexandra side that remained in League One on 52 points.

Neil Baker told crewealex.net: “Paul was a big help to us. He came in at just the right time. He didn’t make a great start at Barnsley but apart from that he was very good.

“We were pleased with him. He has great experience and he became a big part of us retaining our League One status.

“I don’t think Paul got the recognition he deserved and he was a good lad to have around the place as well.”
