New Faces Freshen Things Up

Neil Baker says staff just as keen to bring new players in as the fans.

Supporters are always anticipating new summer signings coming into the Football Club and Neil Baker says that the coaching staff become just as excited when new faces arrive to freshen up the squad. The club’s assistant manager states that he understands the need for fans to receive a lift with a new signing or two in the close season but he has stressed that at the moment a quiet market becomes more of a 'sparring session' between clubs and the representatives of players.

Assistant manager Neil Baker told crewealex.net: “Fans love to see new signings coming into the club and let me assure them that we are as keen as them.

“We want to bring new players in to give them and the team a lift. It is exciting to work with new players and everyone looks forward to it.

“Some other clubs have done some early business and we would like to do that, but it is fairly quiet all over at the moment.

Bakes added: “At this stage of the close season it is a sparring session between clubs and agent. No-one is really making decisions at this stage. If we have wait longer to get the players we want then we will but at the moment the power does rest with the agents and the players and you can’t really rush them.”
