Jonah Looking To Add Goals

8 May 2015

We here from Crewe's breakthrough player of the season James Jones

Crewe Alexandra’s Breakthrough Player of the Year James Jones says he wants to take his form into the new season and add goals to his game. The Scotland Youth International established himself as a regular in the second half of the season, making 26 appearances during his debut season at first team level.

He notched his first senior goal in a fine 3-2 win at Colchester United in February and the attack minded midfielder says he would like to improve his goal ratio during the 2015/16 season.

Jones was awarded with the Breakthrough Player of the Year award at the club’s awards evening after winning the supporter vote ahead of young team-mates George Cooper and James Baillie.

Jonah told the club’s official web-site: “It was personally a great season for me and I have enjoyed the experience. Hopefully I can take that into next season because it has been a whole new experience for me being involved at first-team level.

“I am just grateful that the staff have given me the opportunity and my team-mates have helped me along the way.

James added: “To win the Breakthrough Player of the Year tipped off a great year for me and I can only thank the fans who voted for me. “
