Coco In Contract Extension Talks

Boss Steve Davis hopeful that 20 year-old will accept new contract offer

Steve Davis is hopeful that winger Ryan Colclough will agree a new contract this summer. Colclough, 20, returned from a long term injury to make a decisive impact in the run-in. The Stoke-on-Trent born youngster scored two crucial goals in away wins at Sheffield United and Coventry City as Crewe went on to avoid relegation on the final day of the season.

Colclough has been offered a new deal and Davis is hopeful that the promising forward will accept and become a key member of his forward line next season.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “The club has made Ryan an offer and I don’t envisage too many problems there. I know his agent came into the club yesterday and hopefully we are close with that.

“I think Ryan appreciates that the club stood by him in some difficult times and he knows that this is the best place for him to develop. He came back from a serious injury and played his part in the run-in. We know he can be a potential match winner for us.

“Ryan needs to play games and he has a good support network here that would allow him to play, develop and get him where he should be in the future.”
