Leigh Back But Ray Doubtful

Greg Leigh has returned from shin injury but George Ray struggling with rib injury

Crewe Alexandra defender Greg Leigh is fit and available for tomorrow’s home game against Oldham Athletic. Leigh, 20, has overcome a shin injury sustained in the 2-0 win over Scunthorpe to declare himself fit for selection. Leigh has missed the last two games at Preston and Bristol City.

Centre-half George Ray, 21, is a doubt though after complaining of pain in his ribs after being on the receiving end of a knock against Bristol city on Tuesday evening. The Welsh defender is judged to be 50/50 by boss Steve Davis.

The Alex boss told the club’s official web-site: “Greg is fit and okay. He came through training yesterday and has declared himself fit for selection.

“George got a bang on his rib at Bristol and it was sore yesterday so he is 50/50, while Anthony Grant was ill and didn’t train yesterday but he seems okay today.”
