Jones And Haber Away On International Duty

26 March 2015

Crewe need to make two changes at Bramall Lane this weekend

Scotland Under-19s play Austria this evening. Crewe Alexandra will be without forward Marcus Haber and midfielder James Jones for this weekend’s trip to Sheffield United. Haber has been called up for Canada and has the potential to play in two fixtures, whilst Jones is away with the Scotland Under-19s and could play in three matches.

Both players could be back in time to face Crawley on Good Friday but obviously the club will have to assess their condition.

Meanwhile, defender George Ray remains a doubt with a rib injury. The centre-half took a further knock on his rib cage against Bristol City after originally suffering the bruising against Rochdale.

Crewe boss Steve Davis will continue to assess the fitness of Ryan Colclough after he completed his second 90 minutes against QPR in a Professional Development League game on Monday night. Colclough’s impressive display in the 3-2 defeat could see him recalled to the first-team squad for the first time since November 2013.

Colclough, 20, had missed the last 15 months with a hip and hernia injury but has successfully returned to play in successive Under-21s fixture and faced Macclesfield in the Cheshire Senior Cup.
