Double Boost With Garratt

Steve hopeful Ben will play a part again this season and we will agree a new contract soon


Steve Davis says the club have been handed a double boost regarding their young goalkeeper Ben Garratt. The 20-year-old goalkeeper is making significant progress from the fracture in his leg and it is hoped that the really promising goalkeeper could make a return before the end of the season.



February and Paul Rachubka had to step in just 24 hours after signing for the club until the end of the season. stGarratt suffered the injury away at Barnsley on 21


Garratt will shortly undergo another scan to seal how much the bone has healed.



The boss also revealed that he remains confident that the England Youth International will sign a new and improved deal with the club.



Steve told the club’s official web-site: "Ben is making real progress, surprising progress. We will soon know how the bone has healed and that will dictate if we can push him on anymore.


“I’ve spoken to Rob (Sharp) and he has been positive about it. Ben is working hard and he is doing well with his rehab. We hope he could play before the end of the season but we will have to wait and see.


He added: “We are also confident that Ben will sign a new contract with the club. I don’t think that we are too far on that.”
