Mullarkey Looking To Push On

8 June 2015

Toby Mullarkey looking to catch the manager's eye in pre-season games.

First year professional Toby Mullarkey is hoping he will be given a chance in pre-season to catch Steve Davis’s eye for the coming season. Mullarkey was one of five youngsters to sign professional terms after impressing through the Academy structure and now he is hoping to push on and get some game time during the pre-season games.

Mullarkey, 18, plays as a central defender and was a fundamental part of the Youth team that reached the quarter-final stage before losing to Manchester City.

Mullarkey told Crewe Alex Player: “I was delighted to sign the contract. It was a difficult day when everyone was told but once I knew I had been offered a contract I was straight on the phone to the family to tell them.

“It was a proud day for me and the family.

“It was a great experience last season, reaching the quarter-final stage of the Youth Cup and then playing on loan at Leek. It was a different experience for me and helped me mentally and physically.”
