Davis: "There Won't Be Many Days Off"

22 June 2015

Boss and staff get down to work as players return for summer testing.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says there will few days off for his players as they return to full-time training today. Davis and his staff have been frequently hosting fitness and conditioning sessions over the closed season and the players have been asked to come in twice a week to keep their fitness levels ticking over in readiness for the pre-season games that start on July 10th at Congleton Town.

The Alex players returned to full-time training today and underwent some fitness testing.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “The players have been doing their own fitness programmes and have been coming in twice a week over the summer just to keep them ticking over. The next plan is to increase that work load now and steadily build up to the pre-season games.

“Everything will be planned out, every day and there won’t be many days off. We will look at everything from their physical state to their nutrition and recovery. We will add some new ideas and make sure we are ready for the start of the season.”
