Coco Reports Back As Normal

23 June 2015

Forward free to train with us as club hope to resolve his future sooner rather than later.

Crewe Alexandra’s soon-to-be-out contract starlet Ryan Colclough reported back for the pre-season fitness testing yesterday. Colclough’s immediate future is still be resolved with Crewe still hopeful that the talented forward will agree to sign a new deal with the club.

Due to his age, Crewe Alexandra would still receive a compensation fee if he was to move elsewhere.

Steve Davis has revealed that the club have received no financial offer for the Stoke-on-Trent based wide man but admits that like any other of our young player, the club would always listen to offers for one of Academy graduates.

The 20-year-old overcame a long-term hernia and hip problem to end the season on a high. His two crucial goals in the run-in against Sheffield United and Coventry City went a long way to seeing Crewe safe in League One.

Steve told the club’s official web-site that all we can do is wait to see what materialises once Coco goes out of contract at the end of the month.

“Ryan has reported back as normal and he can train like everyone else. He was fine. I have spoken to him and he has told me that he is leaving things to his agent, ‘says Steve.

“There has been no change on that and all we can do is wait. I am sure he will decide what his future will be in time.

“Like all our young players, if a good offer was to come in and it was acceptable to the club then we would listen. That is the case when they are in contract and like in Ryan’s case, going out of contract.

“We have not received a financial offer for Ryan and until we receive an acceptable deal on the table then all we can do is wait and see if he makes the right decision.

Steve added: “I’ve seen the opinions of people around the club about the situation and I agree with them. I think Ryan should stay here and play every week. It will come for him because he plays consistently well then he will attract interest by playing week-in week-out.”
