Brown Aiming To Add More Goals

23 June 2015

Andre Brown is looking to make an impression in pre-season.

Young forward Andre Brown, 18, is backing himself to find the net on a regular basis for the club’s Under-21s this season and in turn propel himself into manager’s Steve Davis’ thoughts. The Birmingham-based youngster is one of five Academy graduates to turn professional this summer and the powerful striker is convinced that he can add more goals to his game.

Brown was one of the stars of the Under-18s Youth Cup run which saw them reach the last eight of the prestigious competition before we eventually lost to losing finalists Manchester City.

Brown told Crewe Alex Player: “It was a great moment to sign the contract. I was in the last one to go in to be told, so I couldn’t bear it but I was delighted to get the news. I quickly phoned my mum and she was over the moon. I just can’t wait to get going.

“Now I want to start the pre-season well and get my fitness up. Hopefully I will get an opportunity to play a few games in the pre-season and hopefully score a few goals.

“I want to add more goals to my game and if I can do in the Under-21s then I hope to catch the managers’ eye. I am aiming to score 15 goals at that level if I can and create a few goals as well. If I can do that then I hope can push on and get in the first team squad and hopefully make a few substitute appearances.

Andre added: “Towards the end of last season I was scoring more regularly and I got a few in the Youth Cup as well, so I am looking to carry that on into the new season.”
