Boss aiming to add experience to help his young group.
Steve Davis is aiming to add some experience to his Crewe Alexandra squad with midfielder David Fox in ‘pole position’ to become his next summer signing. The 31-year-old would follow Billy Bingham and Adam King into the club as the boss continues to reinvent his new-look midfield.
Davis is aware of the youthfulness in his squad in terms of age, but he also has a number of young players such as his Academy graduates Ben Garratt, Ollie Turton, George Ray and Harry Davis, who have already made over 370 appearances between them already.
Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “It is a young group but a number of them have played a large amount of games already.
“Billy (Bingham) has come into the club and he is only 24. He is our second eldest player. Marcus is the oldest at 26, so we know it is a young group.
“The two we have been able to bring in have added some quality. They have a great attitude in training and apply themselves. We have seen some good things from training and so far in the two games. They just have to carry on doing the good things they have shown so far and transfer that into the competitive games. “
