New goalkeeper pleased to be part of Crewe setup

New Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Dave Richards is pleased to have put pen-to-paper on his deal after impressing on trial.

The 21-year-old former Bristol City man has caught the eye of manager Steve Davis and goalkeeping coach Fred Barber and the stopper himself is looking forward to working with the esteemed coach having already adapted to life in South Cheshire.

Richards told Crewe Alex Player HD: “I came up to train with the lads two weeks ago and now I’m really pleased to have signed. I’ve really fitted in with the group, they’re a great set of boys and I’m really looking forward to the start of the season now.

“He’s brilliant to be fair is Fred. He’s obviously worked with top end goalkeepers so fingers crossed he can work his magic with me now and help push me on.

“I’m here now ready to push on and challenge Ben and hopefully I’ll get my spot in the team and push on for that number one jersey.”
