Not Ruling Out Move For Fox

7 July 2015

Experienced midfielder David Fox still will us and training well.

Steve Davis has told crewealex.net that he is still considering a possible move for the vastly experienced David Fox. The 31-year-old midfielder is still training with the club after leaving Colchester United in the summer to be closer to his young family in the North West. Fox would be a free agent if he can convince Davis and his staff that he is worth a contract.

Fox has certainly impressed since joining us for pre-season at the request of his agent and Davis, who is still after another midfield player to compliment the four he already has, says that the former Norwich City double promotion winner could yet fit the bill.

Davis told the club’s official web-site: “David is still with us and he is a great professional, with a great attitude.

“His agent contacted us to see if he could come and train with us because we wants to keep himself fit and wants to be closer to his family, who are situated in Manchester. We were only obliged to do that and it gave us a chance to have a good look at him as well.

“He works hard every day in training and he would fit into what we want to do with our midfield. I just thought our engine room was second best on too many occasions last season and we need to get on the ball more in there.

He added: “We have a few other options but David is certainly one we are still considering. He has a great hunger and desire to play. We will decide what is best for the club and we’ll see what develops. We are in dialogue with him and his agent.”
