Boss now targets quality left-back to bolster his back line.
After concluding a deal for the experienced David Fox earlier this week, Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has quickly switched his attention to a new left-back. The Alex boss is still assessing the potential of a couple of left-sided trialists and they may feature in this weekend’s double friendly header against Newcastle Town on Friday and Nantwich on Sunday.
The Crewe Alexandra boss is also keeping taps on a left-back from a top level club but he is currently involved in his club’s pre-season preparations.
The Alex boss is still looking to add a young goalkeeper and another centre-half to his squad.
Steve told crewealex.net: “Our next priority is a left back. We are looking at a couple of them on trial and we are in with a shout for another one. He is currently involved in their pre-season games so we may have to wait a bit on that one. He has done well by all reports.
“All we can do with that one is make sure if he is allowed to go out on loan then he and his agent know that we would like to have him.
“There are options and we will do our best to get the best on in we can.
“We also need a goalkeeper and another centre-half to offer competition and cover for the ones we already have. We could do with another one in there and we have a few in mind.”
