King Will Improve Engine Room

7 July 2015

Steve Davis on new loan signing, the talented teenager Adam King.

Teenager Adam King comes highly-rated from Premier League side Swansea City after helping the club win the Under-21 Development League 2 title last season. King, who joined the Swans from his hometown club Hearts for an undisclosed fee is certainly highly regarded by Gary Monk and the staff at Swansea.

Steve Davis is pleased that King, 19, has agreed to gain invaluable playing experience with us during a six-month loan spell.

The Alex boss told the club’s official web-site: “We have known about Adam for a while and he is one we have kept an eye on for a while. Our scouts have been out to watch Swansea’s Under-21s and Adam stood out.

“He is also a Scottish Under-21 International and he has performed well at various age groups for his clubs and country. He broke into the Hearts team at a very young age and Swansea were quick to sign him. You don’t get signed by Swansea unless you are a good footballer and that is what Adam is.

“He has a great engine on him and he gets around the pitch. He is a footballer and likes to get on the ball and pass it. I watched him and Billy closely in the training sessions yesterday and they were both eager to get on the ball and make things happen in there. That is what we want.

“Adam knows that there are one or two ahead of him at Swansea at the moment, they have a talented bunch of young players but he is highly-rated by the manager and staff there and they know that for a first loan, Crewe is the perfect place for him. He will get game time and I’m sure he will enjoy the experience.

“He has a great attitude and he will be determined to show the fans what he can do.”
